Three Moving Tips To Make Your Life Easier

Moving the contents of your place can be a fairly strenuous task, even more so if it’s your first time and you aren’t fully up to speed with all the intricate steps that come with a house/office move. Luckily, we’ve been through the stressful times of moving, and have acquired a bunch of easy-to-follow steps that will make your next move a whole lot easier.

Below are what we consider as the three best moving tips for first-timers!

Spend as much time on packing prior to the move date

Moving house can be one of the most stressful things you can go through; the last thing you want to be doing is rushing around on the day of your move making sure you have all your belongings packed up and ready to go.

With that in mind, the first tip we give to any first-time mover is; spend as much time as possible on packing prior to the move date. By doing this, you not only lower the stress levels on the day of your move, but you also reduce the risk of damaging your goods along the way.

Hire a moving company to expedite the process

Our second tip for making your next move that little bit easier is, hire a home removal company to do the heavy lifting for you. Now, I’ll not lie to you, I’ve moved a few times in my life. The first time, I decided to go at it alone – breaking down the wardrobes, packing up the desks and the drawers, and hiring a van myself. All sounded easy enough and actually a little cheaper in the long run.

Well, I can safely say, it was a terrible idea. I constantly ran into roadblocks, almost broke some of my expensive furniture, and had to ask a lot of friends to help in the entire process. It was not fun, believe me.

The second time around, however, I decided to hire a removal company instead. They guys were super friendly and boxed up the entire place in less than 3 hours – a job that would have taken me 5 times as long. So, if you’re looking to reduce stress and get the job done properly, just hire a removal company. Your stress levels will thank you.

Plan ahead for your move

Lastly, just plan ahead properly. What i mean by that is, don’t leave anything till the last minute. Have an itinerary ready and make sure all the essential steps to your move are on it. Planning a move can make your life 100 times easier and is our third tip for anyone about to move. For me, having a simple system in place is the easiest way to pack your goods. Go from bedroom to bedroom and make sure to package everything in each individual room. Use plenty of protective materials such as blankets, bubble wrap, and proper two-ply boxes; and your move will go a whole lot smoother.
