Bring Your Biz Into 2021 With These Tips

2020 is a year that understandably, most of us want to leave behind. While the beginning of 2021 has been interesting, to say the least, many people are looking forward to a bit of change and positivity as we move through the year.

That goes for business, too.

The pandemic hit businesses of all shapes and sizes hard, and yes, it is going to be some time before things return to normal and business recovers. However, what you can do is look at how to bring your business kicking and screaming into 2021 and give it the best chance of surviving – and thriving.

Here, we share some fairly simple and inexpensive tips to give your business a modern boost.

Look at your website

First things first, if you do not have a website, get one! It is rapidly becoming an essential for businesses, even if all of your business transactions are face to face. Potential clients will be searching on the internet to find you, they will want to know prices, location, opening times, stock availability and contact details. If you do not have this information visible on your website, there is a very good chance that they won’t make the effort to pay you a visit. Not only that, but it makes your business look outdated and untrustworthy.

If you already have a website, it is important that you regularly assess and evaluate it. Is all the information up to date? Can you improve the way it looks or the speed it loads? Google likes websites that produce regular, fresh content – are you doing this? You should also be considering whether your search engine optimization is good enough to get you ranked on search engines. If you don’t really know what you are doing with it, a professional SEO Agency will be able to help.

Make sure you have a social media presence

Whether you like social media or not, just like a website, it is becoming a must-have for business.  Again, customers will automatically search for you on Facebook or Twitter to ask you questions, give you feedback and get information about products and services and what you can offer them.

If you don’t have an active social media presence, you are missing out on one of the greatest – and cheapest – marketing tools that there is. A social media post, particularly if it goes viral, has the potential to be reached by thousands of people very quickly, and for free.

Again, there are third-party agencies and freelancers who can manage your social media on your behalf if you do not have the skills, time or inclination to do it yourself. Alternatively, spend some time once a month or once a week planning out your content and scheduling it using a tool such as Social Oomph or Hootsuite to publish it as and when you want it to. This will save you valuable time, leaving you free to get on with other business related tasks.
