Create a work environment

When you work from home, it can be difficult to create a work environment that enables you to be productive. It is not always a priority to do this as you are likely to be spending your time working hard trying to get your business off the ground. However, we would suggest that it is worth taking some time to create an appropriate work environment as it should see you being more effective over the longer term. 

If at all possible, convert a room or an area in your home into your office or workstation. It helps to have one space where you can have everything to hand, and also to be able to leave your work ready to pick up the following day. 

Draft the experts in when you need them

It can be easy to fall into the trap of believing that you need to know everything and do everything when you run your business on your own. It can be exhausting and you can lose hours, even days, trying to get something done that just is not your area of expertise. That is why we want to advise you that it is well worth drafting the experts in when you need them.

You cannot know everything, you cannot be a computer whizz and an excellent marketer along with everything else, and these people carry out their work day in day out so you can be confident that they know what they are doing.

Get out of the house regularly
